It\u2019s about recovering value where others see loss.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote><p>If you&#8217;re paying attention to what\u2019s really happening in today\u2019s real estate and credit markets, then you already know: we\u2019re not just in a moment of economic volatility &#8211; we\u2019re in a moment of opportunity.<\/p><p>But only if you know how to resolve it.<\/p><p>After decades navigating non-performing loans, borrower distress, and capital preservation strategies&#8230; one truth continues to hold &#8211; asset resolution is not about chasing upside. It\u2019s about recovering value where others see loss.<\/p><p>Too many investors treat distressed debt like it\u2019s a gamble or a salvage mission. But savvy investors &#8211; the ones I collaborate with &#8211; understand it\u2019s the intelligent strategy. A methodical, intentional approach to identifying what still holds value inside a distressed asset and engineering a path to realization.<\/p><blockquote><p><strong>&#8220;Distress isn\u2019t a dead end. It\u2019s a data point &#8211; when you know how to read it. Resolution isn\u2019t just a tactic &#8211; it\u2019s the intelligent strategy.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote><p>Take loan-level resolution, for example. One of the most critical mistakes I see is portfolio managers who look at distress in aggregate. But every loan has its own story &#8211; its own timeline, collateral reality, and borrower behavior.<\/p><p>Resolution begins when you zoom in, not when you zoom out.<\/p><p>This is why I\u2019m such an advocate for creative deal structures and incentive-aligned servicing strategies.<\/p><p>These frameworks aren\u2019t just good for optics.<\/p><p>They create trust.<\/p><p>They make borrowers more likely to engage.<\/p><p>And they make outcomes more predictable for investors.<\/p><p>We&#8217;re also at a unique crossroads in the market. On one hand, we have persistent demand for real estate, especially in residential sectors. On the other, we\u2019re seeing obvious stress signals in bridge loans, in FHA portfolios, and in certain segments of commercial paper that were propped up by artificially low interest rates for far too long.<\/p><p>Distress is rising.<\/p><p>And so is the need for resolution-minded capital.<\/p><p>This isn\u2019t just about fixing broken deals.<\/p><p>It\u2019s about stepping into the gap &#8211; between what\u2019s performing and what\u2019s recoverable &#8211; and helping to restore order in a system that\u2019s buckling under economic weight.<\/p><p>And the truth is, borrowers aren\u2019t the enemy. They\u2019re part of the equation.
