The longer I’ve been in this business, the more I’ve realized how cyclical investor psychology really is.
When the market’s hot, everyone becomes an optimist. When it cools, only the disciplined stick around.
But in every cycle, the same truth resurfaces — cash flow beats speculation.
We’re seeing that truth resurface again right now.
Short sales are quietly coming back into the conversation.
That tells me two things: one, that financial pressure is rising beneath the surface; and two, that the investors who stay calm, liquid, and strategic will find some of the best opportunities of the decade.
I’ve always believed that real estate is a long game built on the fundamentals – relationships, due diligence, and resilience.
You can’t time every turn, but you can position yourself to thrive through them. That means buying for value, managing for performance, and remembering that appreciation is a bonus, not a strategy.
Whether you’re buying distressed notes, repositioning commercial assets, or just watching the macro cycle evolve, now’s the time to double down on fundamentals.
The investors who learn to play through uncertainty — not avoid it — are the ones who’ll build lasting wealth.
